On Sunday, June 25th, the Olympia Experimental Music Festival
presents
"Eyes and Ears Thunderegg" - An Eruption of Experimental
Film and
Music. This show follows up on the very exciting "Visual
Sounds" show
featured last year at the Capitol Theater. A program of 16mm and
Super 8 experimental film shorts screens, many with live soundtrack
accompaniment. Featured filmmakers are: Eric Ostrowski, Jon Behrens,
Bridget Irish, Jason Gutz, Doug Lane, Bryan Frye, Kevin Jacobs
and
Sara Biagini. Artis the Spoonman performs a very special duo with
Portland Guitar saboteur Doug Theriault. Festival perennials NOGGIN
return for another aural assault. The evening culminates with
a
multi-projector sound and film collaboration between local direct
animation superstar Devon Damonte and noise pranksters Foque Mopus.
There will also be a Crackpot Crafters
handmade film workshop "kind of
like a drop-in knitting bee for film dorks" hosted by Devon
Damonte
from 3-5 p.m. that afternoon. People are invited to come and make
their own films or film loops via direct animation and screen
them
right there on the spot. All materials will be supplied, but folks
are welcome and encouraged to bring their own (donation suggested).
